Survive a week in B’wood: Vicky to troll calling him out on nepotism

Thanks to the smashing success of his last release Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Kaushal is the new Hindi film superstar on the block. But no matter how successful you become, you are bound to face opposition. Vicky was recently at noted film journalist Jitesh Pillaai’s talk show Famously Filmfare wherein he was asked to react to some of the comments posted about him on social media.

News In Detailed

A user rather nastily wrote that Vicky didn’t have a “hero face” and that all that it took to get into films was “filmy background” that Vicky had. For those not in the know, Vicky is the son of famous action director Sham Kaushal.

His post read, “He doesn’t have hero face…a common punjabi ladka yes but he has filmy background bas utna hi kaafi hai aaj bollywood me” Reacting to it, Vicky said, “Okay, so apart from the last line, ‘utna hi kaafi hai Bollywood mein,’ I think there’s nothing wrong in what he said. I don’t have a filmy face, hero face.”

Vicky, however, expressed his displeasure for having been indirectly called a product of nepotism. The actor said, “Sir, you are most welcome in Bollywood and try and survive a week and we will have a cup of coffee together and I will ask you the same question.”

Uri: The Surgical Strike, also starring Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Kirti Kulhari and Rajit Kapur in important parts, is written and directed by Aditya Dhar. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his film production banner of RSVP Movies, the film has earned over Rs 214 crore at the domestic box-office so far.
